Korean-American Women’s Society and Students Visit the U.S. Army 40th Infantry Division
The Korean-American Women’s Society (President Sylvia Baek) visited the U.S. Army 40th Infantry Division (Commanding General William Prendergast) on the 13th together with a group of students. During the visit, they learned and discussed the division’s history, including its participation and achievements in the Korean War, the establishment process of “Gapyeong High School,” and the role of the military and soldiers in society since the unit’s founding in 1917.
General Prendergast expressed his gratitude to the students and the Korean-American community for their ongoing appreciation and support of the military and its service members.
Seven-year-old Ethan Choi presented General Prendergast with a handcrafted pen holder made by the students to commemorate the 40th Infantry Division. Members of the Korean-American Women’s Society, students, and soldiers of the 40th Division gathered together for a commemorative photo.
